'Fired'
A beautifully simple piece featuring a sweet swarm of bees enjoying a beloved native plant called Fireweed, known in Britain and Ireland as "Rosebay Willowherb".
Attention has been carefully paid to each individual petal and leaf, creating a textured and realistic look, and the warm tones of the wood have been brought out using a linseed oil finish, which will also help protect the piece.
Fireweed is an edible plant and a pioneer species that quickly colonizes open areas with little competition, such as the sites of forest fires and forest clearings, creating a beautiful cover of tall pink blossoms.
This plant is edible in a few different ways, including making jelly out of the blossoms.
The Deets:
- 18" tall
- 10" wide at the widest point,
- 1" thick
- Black Cherry slab
- Some live edging
- Certificate of authentication
Each piece is unique and a one of a kind original creation by Jaydlyn Joan. Works are highly detailed with a photo realistic look. Each hair is burned individually, and with close attention paid to the patterns and flow of the fur of each animal. Shading and highlighting is expertly applied, creating depth and contrast to each piece in accordance to the type and colour of wood used.
