Burned by hand on a live edge slab of black cherry, this piece features 30 different plant and animal species found in the mountains around Rossland and the Kootenays, specifically during the months of May-September.

Every square inch of this piece has been carved out with exceptional and accurate details, over 500 hours of work, about 1 hour per inch.

Each piece is unique and a one of a kind original creation by Jaydlyn Joan. Works are highly detailed with a photo realistic look. Each hair is burned individually, and with close attention paid to the patterns and flow of the fur of each animal. Shading and highlighting is expertly applied, creating depth and contrast to each piece.
